Car finance pre-approval can assist you with making the purchase of your new car easier, but it’s not the only factor that requires your consideration. It’s a good idea to consider several other important factors that would apply to any car purchase.

How will you use the vehicle? How long do you plan on keeping the car? What is your monthly budget for fuel and maintenance? How much will insurance cost on this type of vehicle? What are the repair costs? Does this model have a good reputation as being a reliable car?

Since you could be driving your new car for many years, it’s important also to consider whether the car will meet your lifestyle and image today as well as in the medium term.

Right now is a great time to buy small and mid-sized cars as these cars are available at great bargains and in higher volume than ever before. Talk to friends or acquaintances who drive cars that appeal to you; word of mouth is often one of the best ways to gather information about reliability of certain models of cars that may be on your short list.

Having put so much thought in to choosing the very best car finance, before you head off to the snow this winter we have put together some useful tips for surviving the extreme environments often faced when heading up to the snowfields.

It pays to ensure that your vehicle is prepared in advance and that you have some basic skills for transversing the winter terrain.

Prepare In Advance
We recommend booking your car in for a pre-winter service and safety inspection.
Check you tyre pressures to ensure that are inflated to manufacturers guidelines.
Reduced visibility and reduced traction are the two main challenges faced when driving in winter conditions. Driving can become hazardous at each new corner you can be faced with new challenges.

Good Visibility
When you return to your car invest some time to clear snow, frost and ice from your windows. Failing to do the basics can mean extra time travelling and can make driving more hazardous than necessary.
Don’t look for shortcuts when it comes to safety, don’t use warm water to clear your windscreen of ice and snow as you will find in more cases than not a sudden change in glass temperature can cause your windows to crack.

Often overlooked but just as important is to check ice and snow cover on front and rear lights to ensure clear visibility as well as your reversing mirrors.

Smooth Driving Is The Key
Avoid allowing your tyres to spin or slide by maintaining your momentum at all times.
Depress the accelerator pedal slowly to avoid wheel spin and when your wheels do spin just ease off a light until you are able to regain traction.

Steer through corners at a safe speed. This can be achieved by lightly braking as you enter your corners and works by reducing the likely hood that you may need to apply heavy braking whilst steering through the corner, which can often result in the car entering into a slide.

We wish all our car loan and car leasing customers a wonderful winter for 2008 and urge you to take caution at every turn.

Amid growing global demand for Hybrid cars, Toyota has hinted it may start production of hybrid cars here in Australia from as early as 2010. Hybrid cars are becoming increasingly popoular among car loan and car finance customers.

The news follows recent comments from Prime Minister Rudd where he has urged Australia’s car manufacturing industry to make a substantial shift towards meeting the growing market demand for more fuel efficent vehicles.

Opposition Leader Brendan Nelson said it was important that every possible measure was taken to ensure Australia continued to have a bouyant car manufacturing industry.

It’s expected that Toyota will finish the current year as the world’s highest volume car manufacturer, overtaking General Motors.

It is anticipated that by 2010 production of Toyota’s hybrid range will grow to over one million units globally.

Demand for hybrid cars continues to rise in the United States, Japan and in developing countries in South-East Asia. Here in Australia, we continue to see growing demand in the car leasing market and those choosing a novated lease for salary packaging.
