The major services will need to be completed by a qualified mechanic but you can do some regular servicing to ensure longevity. Oil should be changed every 3 months as well as the oil filter. Your manual will advise what grade of oil to use. The air filter should be checked every 3 months and replaced if clogged.
Check your coolant is filled to the recommended level. Whilst doing this ensure your hoses are free of any leaks or wear. By ensuring your cooling system is properly maintained you will be able to prevent any overheating which can ruin your engine. To improve the wear of your tyres arrange to have them rotated every 15,000 kms. Tyre pressure should be checked every month which is easy to do when filling up the car.
